今日も引き続き桜の話を。

 

その前に昨日の答え合わせから。

 

Hanami bento is a traditional Japanese bento box enjoyed during

pickled cherry blossom petals.

 

花見弁当は、しばしば彩り鮮やかな見た目が特徴で、多くの場合、ご飯やおかず、お漬物、そして桜の花びらを模した漬物などが含まれます。

 

 Common side dishes include grilled fish, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette),

 

simmered vegetables, fried foods, and tofu dishes.

Hanami bento can be enjoyed at picnics and outdoor

さて、今日もしつこく桜の話を。

 

日本語は豊かで、語彙も多く、さまざまな趣深い表現があります。

 

それは英語にはとても翻訳するのが難しい。

 

たとえば、桜が散って、地面を覆いつくす様子は、「花むしろ」と言われます。「むしろ」を知らない子供たち

 

も多いご時世になりましたが。

 

筵は、藁を編んで作った敷物ですが、見たことがない若者も多いでしょうね。

 

今は時代劇で見るぐらいかもしれない。

 

また、桜の花びらが連なって川面を流れていく様は、「花いかだ」と言われます。

 

「いかだ」は、木材や竹を並べてつないで川面に浮かべる、簡易の舟ですが、木材の運搬そのものにも使

 

われていますね。

 

こちらも、若い世代は知らないでしょうね。しかし、いずれにせよ、美しく、趣のある表現ですね。

 

Japanese language is rich and diverse, with a variety of deep expressions and a

 

vast vocabulary.

 

One example is the phrase "hanamushiro," which describes the sight of cherry

 

blossom petals covering the ground after they fall from the trees.

 

This is a term that many children nowadays may not be familiar with.

 

Another example is the traditional straw mats made from woven straw, which

 

many young people may not have seen before except in period dramas.

 

The phrase "hanaikada" describes the image of cherry blossom petals flowing

 

together on the surface of a river, reminiscent of a simple boat made by tying

 

together pieces of wood or bamboo called an "ikada," which was used for

 

transporting materials.

 

The younger generation may not be familiar with these expressions,

 

but they are beautiful and carry a unique charm.
